MINUTES OF THE OCCUPANCY TAX BOARD MEETING Tuesday, January 15, 2019 Regular Meeting 2:30 P.M. CALL TO ORDER AND WELCOME – The regular meeting of the Occupancy Tax Board convened at 2:30 p.m. ROLL CALL Members Present: Jim Fielding, Chair, Kerry Moore, Roxanne Slayton, Jill Cleveland Members Absent: Elaine Dotts A quorum was present. Staff Present: Allison Gray, Tourism & Event Manager, Juanita Jennings, Director of Public Affairs, Sharon Coll, City Clerk Others Present: None APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Ms. Moore motioned to approve the agenda. Ms. Cleveland seconded the motion. A voice vote was unanimous (4-0) and the motion passed. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Ms. Moore motioned to approve the October 16, 2018 OTB Meeting minutes. Ms. Slayton seconded the motion. A voice vote was unanimous (4-0) and the motion passed. PUBLIC COMMENTS - None. REGULAR ITEMS (Action Items): 1. None. Other Business / Non-Action Items / Information Items / Reports (Non-Action Items): 2. Discussion occurred regarding the OTB Position 2 – Lodging vacancy (current term expires March 2019). Ms. Gray indicated that the Occupancy Tax Board will review all applications submitted during the February 19, 2019 OTB meeting. 3. The OTB reviewed the dates of the 2019 OTB, Finance and Council meetings. 4. The OTB reviewed the 2019 Lodgers Tax deadlines. Applications are due on April 5, 2019 and will be reviewed at the April 16, 2019 meeting. Applications are due on August 9, 2019 and will be reviewed at the August 20, 2019 OTB Meeting. 5. The OTB reviewed a copy of the current Lodgers Tax policy. 6. The Lodgers Tax reports were reviewed. ADJOURN Ms. Cleveland motioned to adjourn. Ms. Slayton seconded the motion. A voice vote was unanimous (4-0) and the motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 2:50 p.m.
