MINUTES OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION February 21, 2018 SPECIAL MEETING 5:30 PM. Call to Order Chair JaneAnn, called the February 21, 2018 special meeting to order at 5:30 pm. The following were present: Members: Chair JaneAnn Oldrup, James Edwards, and Maegan Sanders, Barry Mathison, and Becky Joyce. Staff present: Jim Burress, Director of Parks and Recreation, and Lisa Rosales, Administrative Assistant. Public present: Alison Penn, Reporter from the Roswell Daily Record APPROVAL OF AGENDA James Edwards made a motion, to approve the agenda as presented; Maegan Sanders was second. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion passed, the February 21, 2017 agenda was approved. ACTION ITEMS 2. Recommend adoption of Spring River Park & Zoo Master Plan After discussion Barry Mathison made a motion, seconded by James Edwards to send the plan to go to General Services for review and then sent to Council. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion passed. 3. Vote on Commission Members After a discussion regarding the applicants James Edwards motioned to have all applicants forwarded to the Mayor for consideration including Jan Olesinski who has not completed an application to date; Becky Joyce was second. The motion passed unanimous. E. Non-Action Items OTHER BUSINESS Barry Mathison requests that Jim Burress leaves space available in parks for practice places when planting trees. Jim Burress, Natasha Mackey, JaneAnn Oldrup and Tom Jennings went down the whole bike trail to access the repairs. Jim Burress stated he is letting Community Enhancement use an atv and sprayer to help them remove graffiti. Jim Burress stated that he is working on a plan for a playground for an all-inclusive park in which he is working with the Autistic Foundation. PUBLIC COMMENTS None F. The February 21, 2018 special meeting adjourned at 6:18 pm.
