Roswell Planning & Zoning Commission Minutes of the Regular August 25, 2015 Hearing REGULAR MEETING 6:00 PM CALL TO ORDER AND WELCOME - Chair Ralph Brown, Secretary Eddie Carrillo A regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission was called to order at approximately 6:00 p.m. by Chair Brown with the following members present: Members Present: Chair Ralph Brown, Vice Chair Shirley Childress, Secretary Eddie Carrillo, Riley Armstrong, Toby Gross, Bruce Gwartney, and David Storey. Staff members present: Danny Renshaw, Planning & Zoning Tech, and William Morris, AICP, CZO, Planning Manager. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Commissioner Armstrong moved to approve the agenda, with Commissioner Gwartney seconding the motion. The motion passed 7-0. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Commissioner Carrillo moved to approve the minutes of the July 28, 2015 meeting, with Commissioner Gwartney seconding the motion. The motion passed 7-0. SWEARING IN: Chair Brown swore in staff and members of the audience. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS: The following items presented simultaneously, but voted on independently. 1. CASE 15-10: LAND USE AND ZONING CONSIDERATIONS Rita Ballou, LLC/Owner of property at 600 N. Pennsylvania, is requesting a zoning change from the R-1 to the R-3 zoning district in order to use the site for a professional office. Commissioner Armstrong made a motion waiving Planning & Zoning, Minutes Page 1 of 2 August 25, 2015  the reading of facts, seconded by Commissioner Carrillo and approved by a vote of 7-0. Luke Ragsdale spoke in favor for the applicant. Commissioner Childress made a motion to adopt the zone change, seconded by Commissioner Gwartney, and adopted by a vote of 7-0. 2. CASE 15-11: LAND USE AND ZONING CONSIDERATIONS Rita Ballou, LLC/Owner of property at 600 N. Pennsylvania, is requesting a Special Use Permit to operate a professional office in the R-3 zoning district. Commissioner Armstrong made a motion waiving the reading of facts, seconded by Commissioner Carrillo and approved by a vote of 7-0. Luke Ragsdale spoke in favor for the applicant. Commissioner Childress made a motion to adopt the zone change, seconded by Commissioner Gwartney, and adopted by a vote of 7-0. 3. Amendments to Zoning Ordinance No. 10-02: Amended Staff indicated that they were in the process or commencing a rewrite of parts of the Zoning Code, and would see if they could bring these to the Commission at a later date. OTHER BUSINESS: No new business was indicated. PUBLIC COMMENTS: No public comments were made by the general public.
