Public Safety Committee Meeting Held at Roswell Convention Center Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at 4:30 p.m. The meeting convened at 4:30 p.m. with Councilor Jeanine Best presiding, Councilor Savino Sanchez, and Councilor Judy Stubbs present. Councilor Angela Moore was absent. Staff Present: Mike Mathews Deputy City Manager, Jill Pollock RFD, Karen Sanders Emergency Manager, Bill Morris Community Development, Bill Bartlett Code Enforcement and Chief Phil Smith RPD. AGENDA APPROVAL Councilor Stubbs motioned to approve the agenda. Councilor Sanchez was the second. A voice vote was unanimous, and the motion passed, with Councilor Moore being absent. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Councilor Stubbs motioned to approve the minutes for the April 14, 2020 meeting. Councilor Sanchez was the second. A voice vote was unanimous, and the motion passed, with Councilor Moore being absent. REGULAR ITEMS 2. Condemnations: Resolution 20-XX. Councilor Stubbs motioned to pass Resolution 20-XX and send to the Consent Agenda, as presented. Councilor Sanchez was the second. A voice vote was unanimous, and the motion passed with Councilor Moore being absent. 3. Amendments to Chapter 16 (Nuisances) of the city code: Mike Matthews distributed a packet and informed those present that the packet contained all changes (in red) to Chapter 16 (City Nuisance Codes). The packet was reviewed page by page. Questions, comments and possible changes were discussed. Consideration of amendments to Chapter 16 will continue at the June 16th Public Safety Meeting. NON-ACTION ITEMS 4. None INFORMATION 5. Department Updates: Mike Mathews stated that in an effort to uphold social distancing department heads were not present.
