Public Safety Committee Meeting Held at Roswell City Hall Large Conference Room Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at 4:30 p.m. Notice of this meeting was given to the public in compliance with Sections 10-15-1 through 10-15-4, NMSA 1978 and Resolution 21-7. The meeting convened at 4:30 p.m. with Councilor Jeanine Best presiding, Councilor Judy Stubbs, Councilor Angela Moore participating via phone, and Councilor Savino Sanchez absent. Councilor Moore joined the meeting in person at 4:39. Staff Present: Mike Mathews, Deputy City Manager; Jill Pollock, RFD; Karen Sanders, Emergency Services Manager; Matt Miller, Chief RFD; Teri Best, PVRCC; Chris Bradley, Lieutenant RPD; Phil Smith, Chief RPD; Jason Perry, Councilor; and Kevin Maevers, COR Community Development. AGENDA APPROVAL 1. Councilor Stubbs moved to approve the agenda as presented. Councilor Moore, via participation on phone, was the second. A voice vote was unanimous, and the motion passed with Councilor Sanchez being absent. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2. Councilor Moore, via participation on phone, moved to approve minutes from the May 18, 2021 Public Safety Meeting. Councilor Stubbs was the second. A voice vote was unanimous, and the motion passed with Councilor Sanchez being absent. REGULAR ITEMS 3. Condemnation Resolution 20-XX: Councilor Stubbs moved to send Resolution 20-XX to the full council on the consent agenda, as presented, with a recommendation to approve. Councilor Moore, via participation on phone, was the second. A voice vote was unanimous, and the motion passed with Councilor Sanchez being absent. 4. Taser X7 purchase for the Roswell Police Department: Councilor Stubbs moved to send approval for the Taser X7 Purchase to the Full Council with recommendation to approve. Councilor Moore was the second. A voice vote was unanimous, and the motion passed with Councilor Sanchez being absent. NON-ACTION ITEMS None INFORMATION 9. Department Updates: No department updates were given. There were no questions from the Councilors. CHAIR ANNOUNCEMENT/REPORTS 10. Monthly Reports for Police, Fire, Consolidated Dispatch, Emergency Management and Animal Control departments are located in the Public Safety agenda packet. 11.
