Public Safety Committee Meeting Held at Roswell City Hall Large Conference Room, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday April 25, 2023 Notice of this meeting was given to the public in compliance with Sections 10-15-1 through 10-15-4, NMSA 1978 and Resolution 23-01. The meeting convened at 4:30 p.m. with Councilor Julianna Halvorson presiding, Councilor Jeanine Best, and Councilor Savino Sanchez being present. Councilor Barry Foster being absent Staff Present: Mike Mathews, Deputy City Manager; Matt Miller, Chief RFD; Joe Smith, Interim Chief RPD Toby Franco, Code Enforcement; Teri Best, PVRCC; Karen Sanders, Emergency Management; Terri Harber, RDR; Mike Taylor, Deputy Police Chief; Jim Burris, Special Services, Albert Aldona, Deputy Police Chief, Chad Cole, City Manager and Hess Yntema, City Attorney. Citizens present: . AGENDA APPROVAL 1. Councilor Best moved to approve the agenda. Councilor Sanchez was the second. A voice vote was as follows: Councilor Halvorson- yes, Councilor Best – yes, Councilor Sanchez – yes, and Councilor Foster- being absent, the motion passed 3-0. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2. Councilor Best moved to approve the minutes as presented, from the March 14, 2023 Public Safety Committee Meeting. Councilor Sanchez was the second. A voice vote was as follows: Councilor Halvorson – yes, Councilor Best – yes, Councilor Sanchez – yes, and Councilor Foster- being absent, the motion passed 3-0. REGULAR ITEMS 3. Condemnation Resolution 23-XX: Councilor Best moved to send Resolution 23-XX, to the full council on the consent agenda with a recommendation to approve. Councilor Sanchez was the second. A voice vote was as follows: Councilor Halvorson - yes, Councilor Best – yes, Councilor Sanchez – yes, and Councilor Foster- being absent, the motion passed 3-0. Monthly Reports for Police, Fire, Consolidated Dispatch, Emergency Management and Animal Control departments are located in the Public Safety Committee agenda packet. 5.
