Minutes Friday, January 3, 2014 Special Board of Trustees Meeting, 9:45 a.m. 1. MEMBERS PRESENT: Joyce Tucker, Ivan Hall, Rey Berrones, Jamie Barnes, Lorie Mitteer, Melinda Gonzalez, Tom Tutor, 2. OTHERS PRESENT: Stephen Vollmer, Asst. Director; Sara Woodbury, Curator; Barbara Patterson, City Attorney; Stacye Hunter, Assistant City Manager. 3. CALL TO ORDER: 9:55 a.m. 4. PRESIDENT’S REMARKS: Ms. Tucker explained the need to call a special meeting by the Board in order to approve the loan of objects to the International Museum of Folk Art, which had been slated for the December meeting, which did not take place due to not enough members were present to form a quorum. 5. REGULAR ITEMS: Ms. Woodbury and Mr. Vollmer reviewed earlier discussions to advance the proposed loan consideration to the IMOFA in Santa Fe, (two sculptures by the New Mexican folk artists Felipe Archuleta and Alfonso Jimenez), for an upcoming show, due to open in April. However, the IMOFA has proposed to pick the works up for treatment prior to the next Board  meeting, scheduled for later in the month. It is the recommendation of the staff that the RMAC participate and listed a number of advantageous reasons, including the publicity that such participation provides for Roswell. Approval to lend two objects to the Museum of International Folk Art for a temporary exhibition. Tom Tutor moved to accept the staff recommendation, Ivan Hall seconded the motion: all were in favor and the motion carried without dissent. 6. MOTION TO AJOURN: Ivan Hall moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:16 pm. The motion was seconded by Lorie Mitteer: all were in favor and the meeting was adjourned.
