CALL TO ORDER Board Chair Liakos called the meeting of the Board of Trustees to order at 4:04 p.m. B. ROLL CALL The meeting of the Board of Trustees convened with members Cymantha Liakos, Bill Siders, Lorrina Segovia, Anne Baker, Valli West, Jamie Barnes, Priscilla Ornelas, Jessica Parham, and Peggy Krantz being present via GoTo Meeting. A quorum was established with members Donovan Fulkerson and Kay Cargill Jenkins being absent. Staff present: Caroline Brooks, Executive Director; Amberly Meli, Registrar, and Cindy Torrez, Executive Director RMAC Foundation. Community members present: None identified. C. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Member West motioned to approve the agenda. Member Segovia seconded. A voice vote was 9-0 and the motion passed with members Fulkerson and Jenkins being absent. D. APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 21, 2020 MINUTES Member Krantz motioned to approve the minutes for the September 21, 2020 meeting. Member West seconded. A voice vote was 9-0 and the motion passed with members Fulkerson and Jenkins being absent. E. DISCUSS AND CONSIDER APPROVAL THAT THE HIRING OF BOT MEMBER DONOVAN FULKERSON’S BUSINESS RELICWOOD EVENTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF VIDEO COACHING MUSEUM STAFF WOULD NOT QUALIFY AS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST. After a brief discussion, Member Baker moved to approve a contract with Relicwood Events to provide services to the Roswell Museum and Art Center without requiring Member Fulkerson to resign from the Board due to conflict of interest. Member West seconded. A voice vote was 9-0 and the motion passed with members Fulkerson and Jenkins being absent. INFORMATION ONLY F. DIRECTORS REPORT: See attached G. MEMBERSHIP WORKING GROUP UPDATE Board Chair Liakos spoke on behalf of the working group. She shared that a direct mail postcard to encourage museum membership was designed but mailing was delayed over continued discussion regarding the slogan for the membership campaign. Chair Laikos sought feedback from the BOT on the slogan with a hope to finalize the slogan and brochure by the end of the next business day. H. RMAC LOGO REDESIGN UPDATE Executive Director Brooks reported on a meeting she had with City of Roswell Public Affairs Director Juanita Jennings and 3 Advertising to discuss preliminary measures in developing new branding for the Museum. She presented for discussion the idea of possibly changing the name of the Museum from “Roswell Museum and Art Center” to “Roswell Museum.” Executive Director Brooks will move forward submitting both names for new logo designs. I. RMAC FOUNDATION REPORT RMAC Foundation Director Torrez had no Foundation news to share. J. CHAIR’S REMARKS AND BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS None K. PUBLIC COMMENT None L.
