Richardson Ave. Roswell, NM 88201 DRAFT DOCUMENT REGULAR MEETING AT 4:00 p.m. Notice of this meeting was given to the public in compliance with Sections 10-15-1 through 10-15-4, NMSA 1978 and Resolution 21-7. A. CALL TO ORDER Board Chair Liakos called the meeting of the Board of Trustees to order at 4:09 p.m. B. ROLL CALL The meeting of the Board of Trustees convened with members Cymantha Liakos, Donovan Fulkerson, Kyle Bayless, Anne Baker, Pricilla Ornelas and Valli West being present. A quorum was established with members Lorrina Segovia, Kay Cargill Jenkins and Tim Hartwick being absent. City Council members present: None. Staff present: Caroline Brooks, Executive Director, Aaron Wilder, Curator of Collections and Exhibitions, and Rachelle Diaz, Public Programs Manager. Community members present: None. C. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Member Baker motioned to approve the agenda. Member West seconded. A voice vote was 6-0 and the motion passed with members Segovia, Jenkins and Hartwick being absent. D. APPROVAL OF September 27, 2021 and October 18, 2021 MINUTES Member West motioned to approve the minutes for the September 27, 2021 meeting. Member Baker seconded. A voice vote was 8-0 and the motion passed with members Segovia, Jenkins and Hartwick being absent. Member Baker motioned to approve the minutes for the October 18, 2021 minutes. Member West seconded. A voice vote was 6-0 and the motion passed with members Segovia, Jenkins and Hartwick being absent. ACTION ITEMS E. Discuss and Vote for BOT Vice Chair Board Chair Liakos noted that with two vacant positions on the board, it may not be a good time to vote for a new Vice Chair until those positions are filled. Member Baker motioned to table further discussion until the January meeting. Member Ornelas seconded the motion. A voice vote was 6-0 and the motion passed with members Segovia, Jenkins and Hartwick being absent. F. Consider approval of donation by Ken Terry of two Gendron Jensen lithographs: See Attached Director Brooks introduced the museum’s new Curator of Collections and Exhibitions, Aaron Wilder, who joined the museum staff on November 5. Curator Wilder provided biographical information about the artist and brought the donated works for consideration to the meeting. Member West motioned to acquire the two lithographs. Member Ornelas seconded. A voice vote was 6-0 and the motion passed with members Segovia, Jenkins and Hartwick being absent. G. Consider approval of donation by Susan and David Hill of artwork by Steve Catron, Eugene Newmann, Donald Fabricant, Martin Horowitz, Aaron Karp, Sam Scott, Valerie Nielsen, and Joan Watts: See Attached Wilder provided biographical information about the artists and digital images of the donated works for consideration. Wilder noted that Joan Watts was not included in the donation and was only on the agenda by error. Member West motioned to acquire all works from the donor provided they are in good condition. Member Ornelas seconded. A voice vote was 6-0 and the motion passed with members Segovia, Jenkins and Hartwick being absent. H. Consider approval of donation by Art Rosenberg of artwork by Robert Ellis, Janet Lippincott, Clinton Adams, Harry Nadler, Helen Nadler, Fritz Scholder, John DePuy, Elen Feinberg, Frank McCulloch, Garo Antreasian, and Nick Abdalla: See Attached Wilder provided biographical information about the artists and digital images of the donated works for consideration. Member Baker motioned to acquire all works from the donor provided they are in good condition. Member West seconded. A voice vote was 6-0 and the motion passed with members Segovia, Jenkins and Hartwick being absent. I. Consider approval of donation by the Brinkman Randle Estate of a painting by Peter Rogers: See Attached Wilder provided biographical information about the artist and brought the donated work for consideration to the meeting. Member Baker motioned to acquire the painting. Member West seconded. A voice vote was 6-0 and the motion passed with members Segovia, Jenkins and Hartwick being absent. INFORMATION ONLY J. DIRECTOR’S REPORT: See Attached Director Brooks noted that although visitation in 2021 has been lower than past years, revenue is the same due to admission fees enacted in January of this year. H. RMAC FOUNDATION REPORT RMAC Foundation Director Cindy Torrez reminded members of the upcoming Holiday Artisan Market which runs from December 4-18 and includes an opening night reception on December 3. She noted that the Foundation welcomed five new board members at its most recent meeting on November 9. The annual appeal will be mailed on December 1. K.
