MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
PLANNING WORKSHOP
Friday, October 21, 2022 at 3:00 p.m.

REGULAR MEETING AT 3:06 p.m.
Notice of this meeting was given to the public in compliance with Sections 10-15-1 through 10-15-4,
NMSA 1978 and Resolution 22-14.
For the Record: The meeting is being streamed live for the public through GoToMeeting. There was no
public on GoTo Meeting.
A. CALL TO ORDER
No action taken. A quorum was not established.

Staff present: Caroline Brooks, Executive Director. Aaron Wilder, Curator of Collections and Exhibitions,
Cloe Medrano, Registrar and Jessica Parham, Educator.
Community members present: Cindy Torrez, Director RMAC Foundation.

D. Workshop Overview
Director Brooks informed the group of the meeting timeline and is aiming for a finalized amended
version of the strategic plan for January/February 2023. The group went over the notes from the
previous meeting and review strategic plan characteristics.
E. Discussion of Primary Goals
Caroline had post-meeting idea. As we will need to reduce some programming (not all) and focus on
internal needs in 2023, make it a public initiative. Come up with title, develop press releases, and send
updates.
F. Small group Exercise
The group revisited current mission, mandate and vision. The group then went into small groups
discussing the ideas from the last session ideas, explored other institutional plans (via AAM). They wrote
down and discussed major goals/areas of interest.
G. Closing Remarks
November 10 was to be community forum. However, additional BOT workshop session needed, so will
hold third workshop on November 10, 3-5 pm and reschedule community session.
H. Public Comments
