Director’s Report Director Brooks noted the upcoming 85th anniversary of the Museum’s founding happening October 6 with admission being free for the day and cupcakes for visitors. Sara Woodbury the former museum curator will be visiting in February and giving a talk. Roswell artist in residence Lauren Clay’s exhibition “Phantom Stair” opened September 10th. The Roswell Science and Art Festival will be held at the Roswell Convention Center October 8, 2022. The Newsletter was mailed out and had a good reception. Janet Freeman finished her internship with the museum and Caroline Brooks completed her Master’s Degree in Infrastructure Planning and Management. J. Workshop Overview Director Brooks informed the group of the meeting timeline and is aiming for a finalized amended version of the strategic plan for January/February 2023. The group went over the notes from the previous meeting and review strategic plan characteristics. E. Discussion of Primary Goals Caroline had post-meeting idea. As we will need to reduce some programming (not all) and focus on internal needs in 2023, make it a public initiative. Come up with title, develop press releases, and send updates. F. Small group Exercise The group revisited current mission, mandate and vision. The group then went into small groups discussing the ideas from the last session ideas, explored other institutional plans (via AAM). They wrote down and discussed major goals/areas of interest. G. Closing Remarks November 10 was to be community forum. However, additional BOT workshop session needed, so will hold third workshop on November 10, 3-5 pm and reschedule community session. H.
