Roswell Public Library Board May 25, 2017 at 4:00pm Bondurant Room at Roswell Public Library 301 N. Pennsylvania Avenue Board President: Magil Duran Board Members: Judy Armstrong, Patti Bristol, Michelle Hembree, Linda Madrid, Lewie Montgomery, and Alyssa Rogers Staff Coordinator: Matthew Gormley Call to Order The regular meeting of the Roswell Public Library Board was called to order by President Magil Duran at 4:00pm. Roll Call The roll was called: All members were present; none absent. Staff present were Matthew Gormley, Interim Director, and Kay Carrasco, Recording Secretary. Approval of Agenda Mr. Duran called for approval of the agenda. Dr. Armstrong moved to approve; Ms. Bristol seconded, and the motion passed by unanimous voice vote. Approval of the Minutes Mr. Duran called for approval of the minutes of the April 27 meeting as presented. Dr. Armstrong moved to approve; Ms. Madrid seconded, and the motion passed. Non-Action Items In addition to his written report, Interim Director Matt Gormley reported that the Library Director who had been hired and had accepted the position has cancelled out, so the search process will begin anew. Concerning the FY2018 budget, the new City Manager has said that while hiring is slowing down, there is no formal freeze at this time. The Library’s budget should see a small increase from 2017; it has not been finalized yet, however.  The Summer Reading Program has been changed up a bit, with some new rules and a different prize structure. Children’s Librarian Claire Gutierrez has been doing promotional videos and her work has caught the eye of the City’s Public Relations department; they have asked if she could help with other City projects in the future. Regular Items (Action Items) There were no action items. Other Business (Non-Action) There was no other business or public comments. Adjourn Mr. Montgomery moved that the meeting be adjourned; Dr. Armstrong seconded. The motion passed by voice vote and the meeting adjourned at 4:17pm.
