AGENDA ROY CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING Roy City Hall September 24, 2018 7:30 PM 1) CALL TO ORDER AND ATTENDANCE/ABSENCE STATEMENT 2) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 3) CONSENT CALENDAR: a) Minutes: September 10, 2018 regular council meeting b) Vouchers: Payroll transactions #1509-1512 and 1514-1520 and checks #E34262-E34263, total $12,716.37 Claims checks #E34264-34277, total $7,082.18 4) PROCLAMATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS: None 5) MILITARY UPDATE: 6) CITIZEN'S REQUEST TO BE HEARD: (Limit comments to 3 minutes per person) 7) PUBLIC COMMENT: to express support or opposition to Fire Protection District No. 17 Propositions: a) Proposition No. 1 Six Year Levy Lid Lift Official Ballot Title: The Board of Fire Commissioners of Pierce County Fire Protection District No. 17 adopted Resolution No. 18-002 concerning an increase in the District's regular property tax levy. If approved, Proposition No. 1 will restore the previously voter approved rate of $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed valuation in 2019 for fire protection and emergency medical services, thereby exceeding the 1 % limitation on annual increases in tax revenues, and allow annual increases of up to 6% annually for each of the succeeding five years, subject to applicable statutory limitations. The 2024 levy dollar amount will be used to compute the limitation for subsequent levies; all as provided in Resolution No. 18-002. b) Proposition No. 2 Six Year Levy Lid Lift Official Ballot Title: The Board of Fire Commissioners of Pierce County Fire Protection District No. 17 adopted Resolution No. 18-003 concerning an increase in the District's regular property tax levy. First reading ORDINANCE NO. 970 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROY, PIERCE COUNTY, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE ROY CITY CODE TITLE 4, BUSINESS AND LICENSE REGULATIONS, CHAPTER 1, BUSINESS AND OCCUPATION LICENSING AND TAXATION, AND ARTICLE 1A, ADMINISTRATION OF BUSINESS AND OCCUPATION LICENSING, TO ADOPT UPDATES TO THE MODEL BUSINESS LICENSE ORDINANCE.
