Had approx. 300 volunteers! Planning to do a kickoff celebration on Monday prior where volunteers pick up supplies.  Parks Department is looking to do “mini cleanups” Solar Updates:  Installation going smoothly.  Electrical shutoff this Thursday.  Hold AM of 6/24/26 for ribbon cutting. EV and fleets updates:  Commission approved the city hall engineering work.  Looking for funding to support chargers at DPS. Food Waste Collection Expansion:  Expanded program launched May 3rd during International Compost week!  New program registration online at romi.gov/sustainability – over 100 registrations so far!  Metrostor Downtown locations discussion.  Information in the Summer Insight. Conference Updates:  Recycling Conference o People are not confident recycling. Lack of information or differing. o Comical and empathy voices get the most attention. o Learned a lot of tips about Multifamily recycling efforts. Outreach will be needed. Converting lids, carry bags o Educational magnets. o EGLE creating new dashboards for recycling materials.  Energy Summit: o Historical Society won award.  Compost Collation Page 8 of 14  o Wayne county is targeting ALL restaurants for compost. County providing drop off locations (only 100) Slow Mow Spring Update:  Still ‘Slow Mow Spring” - spread the word! Emissions Inventory Updates:  CLC offering student support. Working on DTE and consumers contacts. Downtown Waste Management Plan: On HOLD: Creating RFP that will look at full waste system of downtown businesses, assessing what is happening now, how introduction of shared systems like compactors look, and how to set up all services for waste, recycling, compost, etc. Revolving Energy Fund: Investigating ways to grow the fund so it can be used for substantial match or projects. Currently, only energy rebates flow into the program. We have experimented with boosted sites this year and for a $50-$100 per post we are seeing significant more engagement. March posts reached over 32,000 users with more than 46,000 impressions and strong interaction across posts.
