MINUTES PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD Thursday, February 7, 2013 Mahany/Meininger Senior Center MEMBERS PRESENT: Stan Schaffer, Mike Ripinski, Todd Menig, Rob Winter, William Staubach, Mark Ryan, Alexander Fike and City Commissioner Fournier ALSO PRESENT: Tod Gazetti, Greg Rassel, and Stewart Meek. MEMBERS EXCUSED: Vince Cassisa Chairperson Menig called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Fike, seconded by Ripinski to approve the December 6, 2012 minutes. Motion passed unanimously. City Commission Comments: Commissioner Fournier informed the Board the Royal Oak Optimist Club is the first organization to step up with a check for $2510 for park improvements at Optimist Park. Business/Public Comments: Bob Muller from the Nature Society informed the Board that the 9 foot deer fence was completed in Quickstad Park and 120 volunteers walked the park to ensure all the deer had left the park. Bob invited the Board to an April tour of the park. Parks and Recreation Master Plan: Motion by Ripinski and seconded by Winter to approve the 2013 Parks and Recreation five year Master Plan. Motion passed unanimously. Adopt-A-Park: Motion by Fike, seconded by Ripinski to approve the Adopt-A-Park program. Motion passed unanimously.
