MINUTES PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD Thursday, June 5, 2014 – 7:00 p.m. Royal Oak Golf Club Don Soper Drive MEMBERS PRESENT: Stan Schaffer, Mike Ripinski, Rob Winter, Todd Menig, Alex Fike, Amanda Klein, Phil Smith, and Mark Ryan ALSO PRESENT: Tod Gazetti, Superintendent of Recreation MEMBERS EXCUSED: Mike Fournier City Commissioner Chairperson Menig called the meeting to order at 7:12 p.m. I. Approval of Minutes: Tabled until September 11th. II. City Commission Comments: Commissioner Fournier was excused. III. Public Comment: NONE IV. Business: a. New Pickleball Courts at Upton Park – Motion by Schaffer seconded by Fike to approve up to but not to exceed $6,000 from the Art, Beats and Eats – Park It Fund for renovation and construction of pickleball courts at Upton Park, all work will be performed by the Pickleball volunteers and the Department of Public Service. Motion passed unanimously. b. Approval of the Amended Golf Course Contract – Motion by Menig and seconded by Schaffer to approve the amended golf course contract which will decrease the yearly rent payment from $50,000 per year to $25,000 per year. Motion passes unanimously. V. Items Not on the Agenda – None at this time VI. Upcoming Events – Royal Oak Art Fair at Memorial Park – July 12th and 13th Movie In The Park – August 26th @ Memorial Park Next Meeting – September 11, 2014 @ 7:00 p.m. @ Mahany/Meininger Senior Center Motion by Fike and seconded by Winter to adjourn at 7:38 p.m. Motion passed unanimously.
