Approval of Minutes: Motion by Rebecca Cheezum, 2nd by Mike Ripinski, unanimously approved II. City Commission Comments: Mid budget season, most interesting is that we have changed, is that CDBG is going to be now going to Hudson Park. Every year, there are many more plans for parks than what is funded, spending little money of general funds on parks. City Manager is hoping/considering to add a request for a millage for parks, recreation and senior services still to be decided presented to commission. III. Public Comment: Janice Wagman – Parking structures by Henry Ford the stairways do not have ADA buttons to get in and out of. Mention to engineering and city commission. End Public Comment IV. Business: a. Motion to add Northwood Park to agenda - Neighbor (Michael) present a notion to make the triangle piece of land at Northwood, Llyod and Woodland? A city park.  Board request a formal proposal to include details of proposed land to be a park. - Concerns – people who may sleep in the park, park hours, garbage cans being emptied, who maintains the park, traffic area (safety). - Nine of 12 neighbors think there is way to much traffic and too small for a park, some are not interested in having a park nearby home.  Mike Ripinski – any proposal should include the names of residents who are for/against the proposed park - Dangerous area for kids to navigate on own b. Senior Center Facility Rental Rate Increase Proposal - Yolanda Botello presents a recommendation to the board for an increase in rental rates for rooms at the senior center which have not been updated for six years. Room 2 should read be 30 without food and 35 with food. Kitchen is something we are interested in incorporating and will be rolling out.  Mike Ripinski – what would you be the parking lot use be? Farmers market can send you some business for kitchen use.  Mike Ripinski makes a motion to approve recommendation from staff with correction on room two, 2nd by Samantha Grant – unanimously approved c. Senior Center Report - Yolanda presents updates still shopping around for a chef, working with Oakland Community College and Dorsey College for internships. Training program with urban options for a chef in process with an opportunity to hire. - Senior Day at the Zoo was June 1 - Activity is picking up - Three dine in and carry out lunches in June – working with chef Erin and one through Julian Brothers, Tania and a lunch bowl. d. Aging in Place Update - All work groups have been completed, followed the Boston format and will be a public meeting on June 22nd where all groups will be giving a presentation. Susan Barkman and Sarah Kindinger will be drafting a final report and bringing it to the community for public comment and will be submitted to the  AARP for review. After review, submitted for commission approval and resubmitted to AARP. - Submit for 2 grants with AARP, one with game night and ADA doors, neither approved. e. Lawson Park Pavilion Rental Rate Proposal - John explains statement of rates for Lawson Park.  Motion by Mike Ripinski to accept rates recommended by staff, 2nd by Joseph Vukich unanimously approved f. Staff Report Parks and Rec Master Plan Update Lawson Park Update Splash pad opening V. Items not on the agenda: Rebecca – CARE Act money and how can we use it for parks/recreation. - Sarah Kindinger suggests maybe internet connectivity Joseph Murphy – Slow roll we are hosting, had about 200 – 250 people for a ride, pavilion was excellent, raving about Normandy Oaks Park. Shoutout to Steve, who was field attendant on the day. Sarah Kindinger – who to go to for a dog park grant? - John states to reach out to grant coordinator VI.
