Call to Order at 7:03 pm
Attendance: Ilene Harmon-McGough, Mike Sherman, Cynthia Garrett, Arbor
Laclave, David Wandoff, Bob Jurva, Steve Teichow, Tina Barber, , Alex McMall,

Public Comment:
Denny Kipp wanted to know how to request adding Richard Needham’s name to
the monument. We provided the application form recently approved by the City
Commission. Provided documentation to Ilene A. Harmon-McGough regarding
Mr. Needham.
John Williams. Requested that the City of Royal Oak put the heat on the engravers
to come out and fix the memorial.
Motion made by Ilene A. Harmon-McGough, second by Arbor Laclave, to amend
the Agenda to include check presentation to Bill Browning, Chief, Volunteer and
Community Relations of the Veterans Administration. Approved.
Check presentation to Mr. Browning from the Ruck 22 March.
Ex Officio – nothing to report
Chairperson – part of Old Business discussions
Motion by Arbor Laclave, second by Steve Teichow to approve the February 7,
2023 Minutes with the change from Core to Corp. Motion passed.
Old Business
1. Memorial Day
Motion made by Arbor Laclave, second by Mike Sherman to approve Robert
Middleton, Montford Marine to be our speaker. Motion passed.
Motion made by Arbor Laclave, second by Mike Sherman to approve Art
Fishman as our Grand Marshall. Motion passed.
Dave and Ilene to work on the 338th Military & Army Navy Bands. Keep
under Old Business as separate item.
Motion made by Mike Sherman, second by Steve Teichow to spend up to
$100 on an advertisement to invite Veterans to march in the parade. Motion
passed.
2. Field of Honor
Motion by Arbor Laclave, second by Steve Teichow to have the Field of
Honor flags on the hill. Motion passed.
Motion made by Ilene A. Harmon-McGough, second by Arbor Laclave to
spend $1,733 on the flags and stances of all armed services. Motion passed.
3. Granite benches – engravers (wording was discussed)
New Business
1. None
Next meeting is Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 7 pm
Motion made by Steve Teichow, second by Mike to adjourn meeting. Motion
passed.
