1. Case No. 18-11-36 – public hearing on the appeal of Stonefield Engineering & Design LLC, petitioner & Fishman &
Wilner 804 & 806 LLC, owner, for the following variances:
(a) alter/extend a non-conforming two-family dwelling on proposed Parcel “A”
(b) waive 3,600 sq. ft. of the minimum required 9,000 sq. ft. of lot area to retain a non-conforming two-family
dwelling on proposed Parcel “A”
(c) waive 1 ft. of the minimum required 5 ft. west side yard setback to retain a non-conforming two-family dwelling
on proposed Parcel “A”
(d) waive 3 ft. of the minimum required 15 ft. combined side yard setback to retain a non-conforming two-family

2. Case No. 18-11-38 – public hearing on the appeal of Kevin Howell, petitioner & owner for the following variances:
(a) alter/expand a non-conforming dwelling
(b) waive 23.7 ft. of the minimum required 28.5 ft. setback along E. Third St. related to the expansion of the
existing single-family dwelling
(c) alter/expand a non-conforming detached garage/accessory structure
(d) waive 5 ft. of the maximum allowable height of 15 ft. related to the expansion of the existing detached
garage/accessory structure
(e) waive 4.5 ft. of the minimum required 28.5 ft. setback along E. Third St. related to the expansion of the existing
detached garage/accessory structure
(f) waive 3.5 ft. of the minimum required 5 ft. east side yard setback related to the expansion of the existing

(h) waive 117 sq. ft. of the maximum allowable ground floor area of 677 sq. ft. for an accessory structure
(i) waive 101 sq. ft. of the maximum allowable lot coverage of 1,800 sq. ft. for all structures
(j) waive 2 ft. of the maximum allowable driveway width of 25 ft. at the property line
to permit construction of a two-story rear yard addition to an existing non-conforming single-family dwelling and
allow a ground floor expansion and construction of a second-story addition to an existing detached

1. Case No. F-18-12-09 – public hearing on the appeal of Paul C. Johnson, petitioner & owner, for the following
variance to the city’s fence ordinance:
(a) waive 2 ft. of the maximum allowable height of 6 ft.
to install an 8 ft. tall sight obscuring vinyl fence along the rear property line at 3026 Guilford Dr. (25-16-276-039)
2. Case No. F-18-12-10 – public hearing on the appeal of Tom Driscoll, petitioner & owner, for the following variance
to the city’s fence ordinance:
(a) waive 2 ft. of the maximum permitted 4 ft. fence height within the setback along the east property line adjacent
to N. Campbell Rd.
to install a 6 ft. tall sight obscuring vinyl fence at 1620 Midland Blvd. (25-03-478-022)
3. Case No. 18-12-39 – public hearing on the appeal of Detroit City Armory LLC, petitioner & Jason C. Odom, owner,
for the following variance:
(a) use variance
to allow a licensed federal firearms dealer to sell products and services at a single-family dwelling at 629 S.

for the following variance:
(a) waive 19 of the minimum required 35 total off-street parking spaces
to permit conversion of a vacant commercial tenant space to a restaurant at 30148 Woodward Ave. (25-08-177-
028)
7. Case No. 18-12-43 – public hearing on the appeal of LL Custom Contracting Inc, petitioner & Christopher Carden
& Soona Kothawala, owners for the following variance:
(a) waive 243 sq. ft. of the maximum allowable accessory ground floor area of 800 sq. ft.
to permit construction of a 673 sq. ft. attached accessory structure / garage and retain the existing 370 sq. ft.
