Aircraft Campsite Construction Manager will develop a safety plan and submit to FAA 2. Women’s Aviation Cross Country Race The 2024 route is already set. Manager has contacted organization about getting on the 2025 route. 3. New Commission Member After discussion, commission decided to submit two names to Mayor for consideration: Julie Zelnick Emily Oakly 4. Completion of SOP document Leslie Teaff will continue to edit current copy 5. Hanger 1 West Door Replacement Door will not be replaced. Still waiting on quotes for reskin with new metal. 6. Runway Remarking Start date pushed from 8/7 to 9/18 due to equipment problem. Also, will be better to do after cooler days. 7. Apron Reconstruction Still working on design 8. Potential Amendments to Commission Ordinance Voted 4-2 to add a clause for Commission to override Manager & Mayor decisions by having City Council break the tie. West, Burnham, George, & Talburt voted for --- Teaff & Rowlett voted against. Dwight Talburt will write up desired procedure/regulation/ordinance. 9. Fall Fly-In Schedule Replaced with Halloween Trunk or Treat. **************************************************************************************************** 2 RUSSELLVILLE AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMISSION Minutes of Meeting DATE 8/29/2023 NEW BUSINESS: 1. Airport Halloween Trunk or Treat In the works. 2. Hangar 11E Vacancy Ed Ingold has given notice that he is closing Ingold Aviation and will vacate the hangar by September 16. He has also promised to have all of his outstanding rent paid by that date. His current is $1,000/month plus 1% of sales. 1. CIP, Taxiway Crack Seal Need an updated CIP by the end of year for submission to FAA 2. Miscellaneous a) Problem with length of self service fuel hose. Length is excessive for the reel. Manager will investigate how to shorten. b) Taxiway B next to Hangar 5E was closed during last taxiway rebuild. reconnection – Engineer estimates a cost of $224,400 (see attached Engineer report) to restore as an active taxiway. Grants are available or we can include in future CIP. Manager will discuss with Mayor. 3. Aircraft Campsite Construction Would have to be city funded. Not in FAA documents. 4. Fall Fly-In Schedule Directory Karp would like to see a fly-in for Mid-October. Recommended to have a fly-in the weekend before STOL weekend at Byrd’s. Director will report back on next meeting. 5. FBO Prop Discussion Bill West reported on a phone app for pilots to write comments and rate airports. Airport advertising is $40-$50. 6.
