February 2024 KRUE Commission Meeting Minutes
FAA Inspection:
· Patrick advised the FAA Report has been pushed back for an unknown date at this time
KRUE Project Update (See attachment from
McClelland):
· Runway Re-marking is complete
· Apron Reconstruction has commenced
Commissioner Vacancies:
· Mayor Teague has submitted potential candidates for the City Council meeting in the
month of March
· Intentions to announce new Commissioners at the next Airport Commission Meeting on
3/26/24.
Eclipse Update:
· KRUE will operate as usual
· Pilots will be welcomed on a First Come First Served Basis
o If parking becomes an issue, KRUE is prepared to fuel planes and send them on
to another airport
· 175 Airplane Chocks have been acquired and will be marked with a KRUE logo
· Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Cadets have been blocked from volunteering at a National Level
o Potential workaround if the City of Russellville is willing to assume liability for the
cadets in the event of an injury or damage to property
· Julie will reach out to ANO employees for an opportunity to utilize volunteer hours
under CAP
o Bill Rowlett will get a CAP training video to Julie by next Tuesday, 3/12/24
o Training will be held on select days the week of 3/18/24-3/22/24 to ensure
Safety is priority for volunteers
· Anyone planning to drive to the Airport on the day of the Eclipse (4/8/24) needs to be
thinking of logistics and anticipate traffic congestion
Potential ANO Summer Celebration:
· ANO REC Committee is brainstorming ideas and seeking potential locations to host a
Summer Celebration Event
o This event would be for ANO Employees and their families
o Ticketed event

o Activities may include:
§ Tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides
§ Skydiver Demo and Signup for participants of legal age
§ Grilled lunch
§ Watermelon Drop from planes
Civil Air Patrol Airfest:
· Airshow type event to include:
o Fly-in spectators
o Fly-by demonstrations
o Formation Flying
o Open to the Public
Hangar USA:
· Hangar USA is a new business, currently in exploratory space
· Interested in constructing hangars at KRUE
· See Letter of Intent for more information
Misc:
· A new Ground cable has been placed at the Self-serve Fuel Station
o This cable must be manually rolled up, it will not auto-rewind
Don’t Forget:
ADA Grant Planning:
· What are some projects we’d like to see?
o EX: New Hangars, sealant on Taxiway B, Renovation of Hangar 1-West, Drainage
issues corrected, etc
· Fundraising would be a great way to maximize the amount of money the city could
match
