CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING 5:00 p.m., March 27, 2018 Central Fire Station Commissioners: City/Department Representatives: Toni Bachman, Chairman Present Eric Westcott, City Council Liaison, Absent Bert Fleck, Absent Trey Smith, City Attorney, Present Jim Horton, Present Jeff Humphrey, Police Chief, Absent Phillip Lea, Present Kirk Slone, Fire Chief, Present Garrie Kellam, Present Brent Hamm, Battalion Chief, Present Ray Watkins, Present Tanessa Vaughn, Human Resources, Present Mayor Randall Horton, Present Sean Ingram, Present Toni Bachman, Chairman called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The Commission reviewed the minutes of the February meeting. Phillip Lea made a motion that the minutes be approved. Jim Horton seconded the motion and the minutes were approved. OLD BUSINESS Civil Service Commission  Police Department  None Fire Department NEW BUSINESS Civil Service Commission  FD promotional testing in May; 8 or 9 will be taking the test.  40th Anniversary of Civil Service was discussed. It was recommended that a press release with all prior commissioners be listed.  All future civil service meetings will be at the new central fire station at the same time 5:00pm.  Starting at 5pm that day Chief Slone gave the commissioners a tour of the new fire station. Members were impressed with the facility, the technology, and design. Battalion Chief Chris Vick explained the CAD system. Captain Barnhouse gave details regarding an upcoming training that was being held at the new fire station. Police Department  No Fire Department  The FD has not used the ER clause. Chief Slone requested to do entry level testing either May 26 or June 2 after the May promotionals. The original date conflicted with RussVegas. Meeting was adjourned at 6:08pm.
