RUSSELLVILLE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING 5:00 p.m., January 26, 2021 City Hall, Russellville Commissioners: City/Department Representatives: Phillip Lea, Chairman Present Trey Smith, City Attorney, Present Toni Bachman, Present David Ewing, Police Chief, Present Ruben Camacho, Present Kirk Slone, Fire Chief Absent Bert Fleck, Present Brent Hamm, Battalion Chief, Present Jim Horton, Present Tanessa Vaughn, Human Resources Present Mark Lykins, Present Phyllis Carruth, City Council Liaison Absent Ray Watkins, Absent Meeting Minutes Chairman Phillip Lea called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Minutes Reviewed -- The Commission reviewed the minutes of the December 22, 2020 meeting. Bachman made motion to approve the minutes as presented and Camacho seconded the motion. The Commission approved the minutes. OLD BUSINESS  None NEW BUSINESS Police Dept  Chief Ewing gave a presentation for changing the makeup of the police new-hire written test. Following discussion, Fleck moved and Lykins seconded motion to eliminate the math section from the new-hire test. Written test will consist of reading comprehesion and grammar/punctuation/spelling sections. The Commission approved the motion.  Arrangements were made for new-hire testing January 30 and interviews Febrauary 6. Fire Dept  None. At 5:35 p.m. the meeting adjourned.
