Russellville Oakland Cemetery Commission Minutes January 17, 2023 The Russellville Oakland Cemetery Commission met for the regular meeting on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Conference Room. Director Stephanie Warwick chaired this first meeting for the year and opened the session at 5:30 pm. She welcomed all and introduced our commissioner nominee, Jami Mullen; our new Liaison, Nathan George; and our new Mayor, Fred Teague. Attending in person: Director Stephanie Warwick, Chairperson/Commissioner Mindy Hudson, Commissioner Walter Hudson, Commissioner Mary Schwartz, Assistant Tish French, Mayor Fred Teague, Liaison Dusty George, and nominee for commissioner, Jami Mullen. Attending via Google meets: Commissioner Cindy Hlass, and City Attorney Trey Smith Old Business: The First Order of Business was to review and approved the minutes from the December 13, 2022 cemetery regular meeting. The motion to approve the minutes was made by Commissioner Walter Hudson and seconded by Commissioner Schwartz. There was unanimous approval. The Second Order of Business was a presentation of the December 2022 Financial Report by Commissioner Schwartz. We are receiving a shortened version of the usual information provided by the Finance Director for the City of Russellville. The Third Order of Business: The floor was open to public concerns. Director Warwick mentioned some calls about the positive overall look of the cemetery. There was general discussion about the need to look into lighting and cameras to hold off vandalism. The Director hopes to bring information on costs to the next meeting. New Business: The First Order of New Business: Director Warwick advised the Commissioners that Nominee Jami Mullen’s name will come before the City Council this week. We hope to have her approved for our next meeting. The Second Order of New Business: Elections for officers for the 2023 Oakland Cemetery Commission Session was held. 1. After some discussion, pending her appointment to the commission, Jami Mullen was nominated and approved by the voting members of the commission to be Secretary for the 2023 session. 2. Commissioner Mindy Hudson nominated Mary Schwartz as Vice Chairperson for the 2023 session, and she was approved by the voting members of the Commission. 3. Commissioner Walter Hudson nominated Mindy Hudson as Chairperson. She was approved by the voting members of the Commission to serve as Chairperson for the 2023 session. The Third Order of New Business: Items not listed in the Agenda — Director Warwick asked everyone to consider projects for the upcoming year and to bring their ideas to the next meeting of the commission. The meeting was adjourned at 6:04 PM. NOTE: Everyone is more than appreciative of Director Warwick’s dedication. She attended this meeting in the middle of a vacation.
