Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes Regular Meeting Minutes June 22, 2022 6:00 PM The Parks and Recreation Commission of the Town of Sahuarita met in the Sahuarita Council Chambers, 375 West Sahuarita Center Way, Sahuarita, AZ 85629 on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. I. BUSINESS Laura - Final Budget Report - Slideshow Berry Dunn - Master Plan Survey Results - Slideshow Chairperson Huckins - Why GV parks were included? Commissioner J Ahern - Will the Powerpoint will available online? Laura said yes via the town website Commissioner J Allen - What percentage of time are the school parks available? 50% Vice-Chair Thomas - Asked for clarification on 12 aspects of parks Laura Hester - States the survey shows us what community is asking for - new approaches Twin Buttes Trails Park - Map Commissioner J Allen - Will the trails park have running water? Laura Hester states the plan is to pull wells. Commissioner comments the map looks great. Commissioner J Ahern - What is the development time for the park? 2-3 years CommissionerG Anderson - Amount of shaded areas? Laura Hester states there will be more than 1 shaded area to fill community needs. Vice-Chair Thomas - States this is scheduled to be an inclusive trail head. 1st Commissioner Jeff Allen 2nd Commissioner Jeff Ahern - All Is None Apposed 4th of July - Rebranded to Sahuarita Stars & Stripes - This event will take place at Town Hall, from 5-9 PM. The show will include fireworks, a water zone, and laser show, as well as vendors and food trucks The NFC was built and finished last week. The grand opening will take place on July 21st. J Ahern - Will the powerpoint will available online? Laura said yes via website. Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting Agenda Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.02 notice is hereby given to the public that the Sahuarita Parks & Recreation Commission will hold a meeting at the date and time specified below at the Sahuarita Town Hall Council Chambers, 375 West Sahuarita Center Way, Sahuarita, Arizona. Members of the Commission will attend either in person or by telephone conference call. To better serve our community, the Council Chambers is wheelchair accessible. Persons with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation, such as a sign language interpreter, by contacting the Town Clerk’s Office at 520-822-8801. Requests should be made no later than three working days prior to the meeting to arrange the accommodation. Persons attending the meeting shall observe rules of propriety, decorum, and good conduct. Unauthorized comments from the audience, signs, and disruptive behavior will not be allowed in the Sahuarita Council Chambers. Violations may result in being banned from future meetings.
