Welcome and Introduction of Visitors
Abney welcomed the public to the meeting and requested that all visitors sign in.
Approval of Minutes from October 2023 Meeting
Burkhalter made a motion to approve the October 2023 minutes, which was seconded by Williamson.
The motion passed by common consent.
Approval/Modification of Agenda
Request was made to modify the agenda to remove BOA23-11-03 at the applicant’s request.
Williamson made a motion to approve the agenda with modification, which was seconded by Burkhalter. The motion passed by
common consent.
ROME/FLOYD ZONING VARIANCE APPLICATIONS:
BOA23-11-01, for the property at 2010 Redmond Circle, Rome, GA 30165, Floyd County Tax Parcel H12Z583, being zoned
Community Commercial (C-C), requests to reduce the sign setback from 10’ to 0’ to maintain the existing sign.
Director Wood presented the application, staff report, and staff recommendation. Chair Abney opened the public hearing.
Jeremy Graham was present to speak in favor of the application and to answer any questions. He stated there was
miscommunication on the project and thought everything had been approved to move forward but permits had not been
pulled for the sign. No one was present to speak in opposition.

Chair Abney closed the public hearing and opened the floor for discussion amongst the voting members. Johnson made a
motion to deny, which was seconded by Williamson. The motion passed 6-0.

principal structure.
Director Wood presented the application, staff report, and staff recommendation. Chair Abney opened the public hearing.
Thomas and Wanda Smith were present to speak in favor of the application and to answer any questions. No one was present
to speak in opposition.
Chair Abney closed the public hearing and opened the floor for discussion amongst the voting members. Lambert made a
motion to approve as submitted, which was seconded by Burkhalter. The motion passed 6-0.

Residential (S-R), requests to install an accessory structure prior to the principal structure, said accessory structure being closer
to the public right-of-way than the proposed principal structure.
Director Wood presented the application, staff report, and staff recommendation. Chair Abney opened the public hearing.
Andy and Trish Roberts were present to speak in favor of the application and to answer any questions. They would like to have
storage building for tractor and tools for land improvement while they get property ready to build on. No one was present to
oppose the application.
Chair Abney closed the public hearing and opened the floor for discussion amongst the voting members. Johnson made a
motion to approve, which was seconded by Williamson. The motion passed 6-0.
