Discussion of Spring Public Event to Promote and Celebrate Bicycling
Devine has been coordinating with Salem State University to host an event on April 11
at 4:30pm at the bike path where it intersects Loring Ave. It is part of the university’s
series of “Earth Days” events. There will be a volunteer or two from the Bike Committee
tabling there and another will lead a short group ride up and down the path. The official
Salem State sponsored route will end at Riley Plaza, but anyone can unofficially
continue beyond that. Group discusses logistics. Several members wish to volunteer.
April 12 is the rain date.
Devine also describes an opportunity to participate in the Saturday, May 13 Living
Green Expo at Old Town Hall, from 10am to 1pm. The event will only occur if there are
enough participants and sponsors. Morrell and Wolf will see if their organizations will
participate. Seiferth will contact MassBike to see if they would be interested too. The
group is interested in participating.
Adjournment
Gillis motions and Seiferth seconds to adjourn at 7:05pm and all vote in favor.
