Board of Commissioners of Trust Funds Minutes of the March 8, 2018 Meeting Present: Mayor Driscoll, William P. Goreham, Thaddeus Buczko, Sumner Jones and Richard Lobsitz The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 5:30 P.M. in the Mayor’s Office. The Council on Aging submitted three requests for medication expense reimbursement. Sumner Jones made a motion to approve $503.29 from the Endicott Fund for the expenses. The motion was seconded by Richard Lobsitz and voted unanimously. The Cemetery Commission requested a transfer of funds, $55,000.00, from the Perpetual Care Fund to the Cemetery Account # 83021-482540. Richard Lobsitz made a motion to approve the transfer of funds. The motion was seconded by William P. Goreham and voted unanimously. The North Shore Concert Band sent a thank you note for funds received for Free Willows Concerts for the 2017 season and also requested funding for 2018. Sumner Jones made a motion to approve $1,800.00 from the Browne Fund for the concerts. The motion was seconded by Richard Lobsitz and voted unanimously. A statement was received from Salem State University for the Darwin Festival. Total expenses were $2,386.45. This was an approved Large Grant for FY2017 so no vote of approval was required. Richard Lobsitz made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 11, 2018 meeting. The motion was seconded by William P. Goreham and voted unanimously. There were no minutes for February as the meeting was cancelled. LEAP sent an invitation for their annual fund raising activities on April 10, 2018. Board members were invited; the information is available at the Mayor’s Office. The Salem Philharmonic Orchestra sent a letter, thanking the Board for their FY2017 Large Grant. With the award and other funding raising activities the orchestra was able add an additional concert. The Plummer Youth Promise group sent a thank you for their FY2017 Large Grant and also sent an update about their on-going activities. The Eastern Bank Investment Advisors will attend our April 12th meeting. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:55 P.M. Respectfully Submitted: F. Kay Fouhey, Clerk
