Board of Commissioners of Trust Funds
Minutes of the November 14, 2019 Meeting
Present: Mayor Driscoll, William P. Goreham, Thaddeus Buczko,
Sumner Jones and Richard Lobsitz
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM in the Mayor’s Office,
City Hall.
The Council on Aging sent a request on behalf of three Salem residents to assist them
with medication expense reimbursement. Thaddeus Buczko made a motion to approve
$450.74 from the Endicott Fund for the expenses. The motion was seconded by William
P. Goreham and voted unanimously.
A statement was received for our annual post office box rental. Sumner Jones made a
motion to approved $176.00 from the Administration Fund for the expense. The motion
was seconded by Richard Lobsitz and voted unanimously.
Cynthia Napierkowski from the Salem High School Music Department submitted a
request for the annual awards from the Harris Music Fund. The Clerk sent out three
$25.00 checks from the Harris Fund for this annual request.
The Brookhouse Home submitted a request for $3,760.47 from the Endicott Fund.
This FY20 Large Grant for $5,000.00 was approved in August 2019. No vote required.
Richard Lobsitz made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 12, 2019
meeting. The motion was seconded by Thaddeus Buczko and voted unanimously.
A thank you letter from Samaritan Charitable Society of Salem was received for the
FY20 Large Grant.
A thank you letter from Catholic Charities-North was received for the FY20 Large Grant.
LEAP for Education sent a letter and brochure of their 2019 Annual Report. The Board
reviewed the information.
William P. Goreham distributed the First Quarter Report – ending September 30, 2019.
The total Market Value listed was $8,984,149.52. The Board discussed and reviewed the
information presented from the Eastern Bank.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:55 PM.
