#559 Amending an Ordinance relative to Greenlawn Cemetery. ________________________________________
#197 Repealing Sec. 1-2 Definitions and Rules of Construction: Gender. A word importing the masculine gender only
shall extend and be applied to females and to firms, partnerships and corporations, as well as to males: and revising
City Ordinances to use gender neutral language.______________________________________________________

C. Morsillo moves to approve, Seconded by C. Prosniewski, motion carries 3-0
For the next two orders C. Madore explains the committee discussed at 2/6/20 meeting but due to a last minute technical
glitch the meeting was not posted properly on the website and therefore did not meet Open Meeting Law requirements. No
motions were made. Meeting minutes from 2/6/20 will be posted on Council’s website.

C. Madore summarizes the discussion during 2/6/20 meeting. Cemetery Superintendent Bob LeBlanc recommended adding
language to “maintain items for a period of no less than 21 days” to the ordinance.
C. Prosniewski moves to add language above, C. Morsillo seconds, motion carries 3-0.
C. Morsillo moves to refer the matter out of committee with a positive recommendation, as amended, C. Prosniewski seconds,
motion carries 3-0

C. Madore summarizes the discussion during 2/6/20 meeting. Since then we received an estimate from Municode for $7,500
for all the changes. Berkley also shared with Beth Rennard that there were no negative unintended consequences since they
adopted the same changes.
C. Dibble and Sargent arrives at 6:38 pm.
C. Morsillo moves to keep in committee, C. Dibble seconds, motion carries 5-0
On the motion of C. Morsillo the meeting adjourned at 6:39 P.M.
