SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
A Special Meeting of the City Council was held in the City Council Chambers on
Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 6:00 P.M. for the purpose of taking action on the items
listed below:
Notice of this meeting was posted on December 13, 2023 at 10:32 A.M.
All Councillors were present.
Council President Megan Stott presided.
(#537) – SECOND PASSAGE OF A ZONING ORDINANCE RELATIVE TO
INCLUSIONARY HOUSING
The Second Passage of an Ordinance to amend a Zoning Ordinance relative to
Inclusionary Housing was then taken up. This Zoning Ordinance was adopted for second
and final passage by a roll call vote of 11 yeas, 0 nays and 0 absent. (full text can be
viewed in the City Clerk’s office during normal business hours)
A motion for immediate reconsideration in hopes it does not prevail was denied.
(#599) SECOND PASSAGE OF A TRAFFIC ORDINANCE AMENDING STOP SIGNS –
HARBOR STREET
The Second Passage of an Ordinance to amend an Ordinance relative to traffic Ch. 42,
Sec. 49 – Stop Signs – Harbor Street was then taken up. This ordinance was adopted for
second and final passage
In the year Two Thousand and Twenty-Three
An Ordinance Relative to Traffic
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Salem, as follows:
Section 1. Section 49 of Article IV be amended by inserting the following:
Harbor Street – Obedience to Isolated Stop Signs – westerly bound traffic on Harbor
Street at Washington Street.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect as provided by City Charter.
On the motion of Councillor McCarthy the meeting adjourned at 6:04 P.M.
