COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MINUTES November 14, 2023 A regular meeting of the Community Preservation Committee (CPC) was held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 6:00 pm via remote participation through Zoom. Present were Bart Hoskins (Chair), Carole Hamilton (Vice Chair), Bob Callahan, Deborah Greel, Rebecca English, Joy Livramento-Bryant and Kate Martin. Also present was Patti Kelleher of the City of Salem Department of Planning & Community Development. Not present: John Boris. Approval of meeting minutes of October 10, 2023 VOTE: Ms. Livramento-Bryant made a motion to accept the minutes of October 10, 2023. Ms. Martin seconded the motion. All were in favor and the motion so passed. Acceptance of Draft Plan VOTE: Ms. Greel made a motion to accept the Draft Plan. Ms. English seconded the motion. All were in favor and the motion so passed. VOTE: Mr. Callahan made a motion to issue the Final Plan if no comments on Draft Plan are received by deadline. Ms. Greel seconded the motion. All were in favor and the motion so passed. Discussion/Election of Chair and Vice Chair VOTE: Ms. Greel made a motion to nominate Bart Hoskins for Chair. Mr. Callahan seconded the motion. All were in favor and the motion so passed. VOTE: Ms. Greel made a motion to nominate Carole Hamilton for Vice Chair. Ms. Livramento- Bryant seconded the motion. All were in favor and the motion so passed. Other Business The Committee discussed opportunities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of CPA project funding, including developing a story map of projects with before & after images, issuing a press release, requesting Mayor to acknowledge in his outreach, and info to Councillors for highlighting in Ward newsletters. Also suggested that introductory letters be sent to new Councillors and effort to identify areas of the city where CPA funding is lacking. Next meeting: Tuesday, December 13, 2023, 6:00pm (if needed) There being no further business, Ms. Greel made a motion to adjourn at 6:30pm.
