Salem Cultural Council Meeting Minutes Monday, January 24, 2022 1. Roll Call Present: Matt Cornell, John Dobroski, Ziggy Hartfelder, Allie Shvonski, Melissa Stockbridge 2. Prior meeting minutes vote Melissa Stockbridge motioned to approve, Ziggy Hartfelder seconded, meeting minutes approved 3. Potential Additional Funds in SCC Account John Dobroski presented a solution to dispersing the remaining funds in the account by applying them to already selected projects that the Council was unable to fully fund, bringing them closer to their originally requested amount. Votes were taken for each project and the Council unanimously approved the fund disbursement. John Dobroski then noted that he would close out all pending accounting forms in SmartSimple and award the approved amounts in the system. He also noted that he would draft an email for recipients that would provide additional details and attachments that they will need to complete the process. 2022 grant recipients are:  Negro Election Day Black Celebration Annual Event  Free Music Lessons  Salem Willows Park 2022 Summer Concert Series  DENCITY Sunday Soulcase & Open Mic @ Chagall PAC  Sigil Game Jam  "Queering the Canon: The Classics from an LGBTQ  Perspective"  Salem Arts Festival Community Art Project  Carlton School Community Mural at Curtis Park  Salem Community Pop-Up  Old Salem in Ballad and Song  Salem Film Fest 2022  Salem Literary Festival 2022 for Kids 4. Open Council Positions (Treasurer and Secretary) This topic was tabled until a future meeting 5. Any Additional Business Allie Shvonski requested that the next meeting be about getting to know each other and share ideas for the council moving forward. The council members liked the idea and agreed to have it added to the agenda. 6. Adjourn The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:50 PM

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING Salem Cultural Council Monday, January 24, 2022, 7:00 pm Held via Remote Participation Important Announcement Pursuant to Governor Baker’s March 12, 2020 Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law, G.L. c. 30A, §20,and the Governor’s March 15, 2020 Order imposing strict limitation on the number of people that may gather in one place, this meeting of the Salem Public Art Commission will be conducted via remote participation to the greatest extent possible. Specific information and the general guidelines for remote participation by members of the public and/or parties with a right and/or requirement to attend this meeting can be found on the city’s website, at www.salem.com. No in- person attendance of members of the public will be permitted, but every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings in real time, via technological means. In the event that we are unable to do so, despite best efforts, we will post on the city’s website an audio or video recording, transcript, or other comprehensive record of proceedings as soon as possible after the meeting. Remote Participation Instructions: Public participation for the Salem Cultural Council meeting scheduled for Monday, January 24, 2022, at 7:00pm will be conducted via a free remote participation platform called Zoom.
