ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS CONSIDERATIONS PUBLIC HEARINGS Zoning Code Amendment 2023-001; Amend Zoning Code Section 37-50.090 (Fences, Walls, Hedges) of Chapter 37 of the Salinas Municipal Code (Zoning Code) to modify the application process for electrically- charged wires and fences in the Industrial General (IG) Zoning District and other subsections of Section 37-50.090. This item has been continued to the October 18, 2023 Planning Commission meeting. ID#23-580 Conditional Use Permit 2023-017; Request to establish and operate an alcohol related use consisting of an off-sale general license (Type 21) at proposed food and beverage sales use (Vallarta Supermarket) located within an existing 84,180 square-foot building in the Laurel West Shopping Center at 1050 North Davis Road in the Commercial Retail (CR) Zoning District Recommendation: A motion to approve a Resolution finding the project exempt pursuant to Sections 15061(b)(3) and 15301 of the CEQA Guidelines, affirming the findings, and approving Conditional Use Permit 2023-017 City of Salinas Page 2 Printed on 9/29/2023 Planning Commission Meeting Agenda - Final October 4, 2023 ID#23-604 Zoning Code Amendment 2022-004; Amend Zoning Code Section 37-50.620 (On-site Sign Regulations) of Chapter 37 of the Salinas Municipal Code (Zoning Code) to allow consideration of public service information, marquee, changeable copy, and other signs for public/private school uses. Recommendation: A motion to approve a Resolution recommending that the City Council find the project categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15305 and adopt an Ordinance amending Chapter 37 of the Salinas Municipal Code (Zoning Code) to allow consideration of public service information, marquee, changeable copy, and other signs for public/private school uses.
