City Council Meeting April 9, 2024 Responses to City Council Agenda Questions 7:00pm Regular Meeting Item 6f - Smelly Mels Plumbing, Inc. to Provide Sewer Spot Repair Services • Please provide a history of the annual allocation to the Sewer Spot Repair and how much of that authorization has been expended each year. I would like to see this going back to 2011 if possible. The Public Works Wastewater Division has been using an on-call emergency spot repair contractor for several years to respond to emergency repairs and repairs identified by staff. The operating budget allocations have been adjusted over time in relation to actual repair needs while also leaving funding for unplanned emergency repairs. In other words, how many total households are in SB since we know CityNet serves approximately 6000 households? San Bruno CityNet Services serves about 41% of the 14,780 occupied dwellings in San Bruno (source: US Census, Quick Facts, based on 2023 population estimate of 2.81 occupants per household). Thus, the estimate of the San Bruno population served is approximately 17,000 residents. 2
