Results of the General Municipal Election for the City of San Bruno held on November 5, 2024 December 10, 2024 Lupita Huerta CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING City Clerk BACKGROUND • On June 11, 2024, City Council adopted Resolution No. 2024- 39 calling a General Municipal Election for the seats of Mayor (full two-year term); a City Councilmember for District 2 and a City Councilmember for District 3 (both full four-year terms) • On July 23, 2024 the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2024-66 and Ordinance No. 1951 (introduced July 9, 2024) to submit a measure to the voters for general obligation bonds (GO Bonds) to finance municipal improvements constituting public infrastructure 2 ELECTED OFFICIALS • The General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of San Bruno on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 • The results of the election are:  Rico E. Medina was elected as Mayor;  Tom Hamilton was elected as City Council Councilmember for District 2; and  Michael Salazar was elected as City Council Councilmember for District 3 3 MEASURE ON THE BALLLOT • Measure Q, a measure to issue G.O. bonds to finance the costs of municipal improvement projects was approved and adopted by the voters receiving affirmative votes that surpassed the required 2/3 percentage of votes:  Shall City of San Bruno measure be adopted to repair deteriorating storm-drains, preventing failure, flooding, water pollution/ sinkholes; repair potholes/ city streets; upgrade fire stations, improving emergency response, accommodate modern firefighting/ lifesaving emergency medical equipment, function during earthquakes/ natural disasters; authorizing $102,000,000 in bonds, at a tax rate of 3¢ per $100 of assessed value, while bonds are outstanding, initially generating $3,300,000 annually, without funds for administrators/ cannot be taken by the State of California, with citizen oversight/ independent audits? 4 TONIGHT’S RECOMMENDED ACTION • Adopt a Resolution Declaring the Results of the General Municipal Election for the City of San Bruno held on November 5, 2024 as Provided by Law 5
