City Council Meeting December 9, 2025 Responses to City Council Agenda Questions 7:00pm Regular Meeting Item 7i. When is paving scheduled to begin? • RESPONSE: Paving scheduled to begin early 2026. Item 7j. What is the current project schedule? • RESPONSE: The current project schedule is to finish the paving scope in early 2026, which is the last remaining project scope followed by punchlist and close out in by summer 2026. Item 7l. The recent Park Assessment report listed various stages of planning and construction for our parks. What happens after this project is completed? • RESPONSE: As noted in the San Bruno Parks Assessment, Forest Lane Park is identified as one of the City’s highest-priority sites for amenity replacement. The existing playground is approaching the end of its useful life, and the Assessment calls out this park as a location where investment is both warranted and overdue. Staff also consistently receives community feedback and requests regarding this site, reinforcing that Forest Lane is a high-use neighborhood park where upgraded play equipment would have a strong and immediate impact. While the broader park, including pathways, landscaping, and other amenities is identified for a future master planning effort, the recommendation from the San Bruno Parks and Recreation Commission at this time is to move forward with the playground component now. This approach allows us to address the most pressing safety and service-level needs while still preserving the opportunity for a more expansive, community-driven look at the remaining portions of the park. In addition, the City needed to act quickly to take advantage of a time-sensitive grant opportunity through GameTime that reduces the City’s cost for the playground replacement. Moving forward now ensures we do not forfeit this funding and that we leverage external dollars to help deliver improvements our residents have been asking for. In summary, the playground replacement is a near-term priority supported by the Parks Assessment, responsive to community demand, and financially strategic due to the availability of a matching grant and increasing costs on playground structures. Master Fee Schedule. On page 414 Senior Transportation now includes a note stating, “qualifying San Bruno residents age 60 and over “ but also indicates a non-resident fee of “donation”. This is unclear…can a non-resident use this service? • RESPONSE: The transportation policy was recently updated to limit the program to San Bruno residents only. However, there is one long-time non-resident participant who has been permitted to continue using the service due to her long history in the program and ongoing need. The non-resident “donation” fee remains in the Master Fee Schedule to account for this existing participant. The policy does not allow any new non-residents to enroll in the program. 2
