1. CC 18-074 Update to the Public Safety, Finance, and Strategic Support Committee
Agenda.
Recommendation: Defer the following item from the March 15, 2018, Public Safety,
Finance, and Strategic Support (PSFSS) Committee agenda to the May
17, 2018, PSFSS Committee agenda:
Mayor's Gang Prevention Task Force (MGPTF), San Jose's Bringing
Everyone's Strengths Together (BEST), and Safe Summer Initiative
Grant (SSIG) Programs Annual Report (Parks, Recreation, and
Neighborhood Services)
Purpose: To provide the 2016-2017 Annual Report on the Mayor’s
Gang Prevention Task Force (MGPTF), San Jose’s Bringing
Everyone’s Strengths Together (BEST), and Safe Summer Initiative
Grant (SSIG) Programs.

1. CC 18-073 Innovation Roadmap: Safe City Strategy Status Report. (Police, Fire, and
City Manager - Office of Emergency Management)
Recommendation: Accept the status report on the Innovation Roadmap: Safe City Strategy
regarding the applied use of technology and technology improvement
opportunities within the Police Department, Fire Department, and the
Office of Emergency Management.

2. CC 18-079 Pensionable Earnings Audit. (City Auditor)
Recommendation: Accept the results of a follow-up audit on the accuracy of the City’s
pensionable earnings calculation; and refer the audit to the April 3,
2018, City Council meeting for full adoption.

3. CC 18-075 Project Hope Pilot Program Final Report. (Parks, Recreation and
Neighborhood Services)
Recommendation: Accept the final report on the Project Hope Pilot Program in the
Cadillac/Winchester Neighborhood.

5. CC 18-077 Workers’ Compensation Program Semi-Annual Report. (Human Resources)
Recommendation: Accept a semi-annual report on the City’s efforts to contain workers’
compensation costs and reduce claims for the Workers’ Compensation
Program through the first six months of 2017-2018.
