Approved Minutes Airport Advisory Board March 12, 2018 Airport Management Office Regular Session I. Call to Order. The meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman Stauffer at 10 am. II. Roll Call Board Members Present: David Badal Dan Stauffer Scott Gregson Tom Roach Board Members Absent: Travis Ahlhorn Stakeholder Members Present: John Koenreich Stakeholders Members Absent: Joe Enzminger Erik Landrum Sonny Berry TAP Staff Present: Stacey Batch Jim Wimberly Renae Gonzales Cassidy Berenato Attendees: Steve Parker – COSM Rick Rowell – SMFD Kirk Abbott – City of San Marcos Jim Swisher – SMHC EMS Russell Ross – EAA Mindy League – DAHU Ben Breck – TXDOT Aviation Bob DeJong – Pilot Don Joos – Pilot Billy Whiting – ATC Manager Nick Carey – Coast Flight Travis Cox – Coast Flight III. Public Comments – Russell Ross with the EAA Chapter 598 spoke about upcoming events and getting people involved with the Chapter. Jim Wimberly with Texas Aviation Partners introduced Ben Breck, the airport’s new TxDOT Aviation Planner, and Billy Whiting, the new Air Traffic Control Tower Manager. IV. Approval of December 11, 2017 minutes: Dan Stauffer made a motion for approval with a second from David Badal. Approved 4-0. V. Receive an update regarding airport projects progress: Stacey Batch with Texas Aviation Partners gave an update on taxiway and ramp maintenance, taxiway “Delta” temporary closure, RWY 13 RAILS, airfield signage replacement, airfield striping, and plan for taxiway Alpha and Charlie. Kirk Abbott with the City of San Marcos Engineering department gave an update on the new Kilo hangar and Master Plan. Jim Wimberly gave an update on the increase of based aircraft to the airport. Mindy League with DAHU gave a presentation on the new San Marcos Regional Airport website. Jim Wimberly stated that he would like to set up a task force to help with next steps to get customs to the airport. VI. Receive an update regarding air traffic control operations: Billy Whiting and Stacey Batch gave a review of the current closures, aircraft operations at the airport, and additional equipment needs the tower has. VII. Questions and answers: Steve Parker spoke about the CAMPO funds that were available and how the airport could value from some of this funding. VIII.
