Special Meeting - 625 E. Hopkins
I. Call To Order
With a quorum present, the special meeting of the San Marcos City Council was called to
order by Mayor Hughson at 5:32 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022. The meeting was held at
the San Marcos Public Library - Conference Room, located at 625 E. Hopkins Street.
II. Roll Call
Present: 6- Mayor Jane Hughson, Council Member Maxfield Baker, Council Member Saul Gonzales,
Mayor Pro Tem Shane Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Alyssa Garza and Council Member
Mark Gleason
Absent: 1- Council Member Jude Prather
EXECUTIVE SESSION
1. Executive Session in accordance with Sec. §551.074 of the Texas Government Code:
Personnel Matters: discussion regarding filling the City Clerk Vacancy.
A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Scott, seconded by Council Member Baker to
enter into Executive Session at 5:33 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote:
For: 6- Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Council Member Gonzales, Mayor Pro
Tem Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Garza and Council Member Gleason
Against: 0
Absent: 1- Council Member Prather
ACTION/DIRECTION FROM EXECUTIVE SESSION
2. Consider action, by motion, or provide direction to Staff regarding the following Executive
Session item held during the Special Meeting: Sec. §551.074 of the Texas Government
Code: Personnel Matters: discussion regarding filling the City Clerk Vacancy.
Executive Session concluded at 7:32 p.m.
Mayor Hughson stated direction was provided to staff.

A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Scott, seconded by Council Member
Baker, to adjourn the special meeting of the City Council on Monday, May 2,
2022 at 7:33 p.m.
For: 6- Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Council Member Gonzales, Mayor Pro
Tem Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Garza and Council Member Gleason
Against: 0
Absent: 1- Council Member Prather
