Special Meeting – Minutes
I. Called to order
Time: 5:30 pm
II. Roll Call – Members Present: Tom Rhodes, David Ross, Lynn Thompson, JoAnn Parsons,
Michelle Sotolongo, Michele Purvin, Doni Weber, Sara
Underwood
Absent Members: None
Staff Liaison: Christina Tureaud, Administrative Coordinator
III. Approval of Minutes
Chairman Rhodes requested review of the March 10, 2015 meeting minutes; JoAnn moved to
approve, Lynn second the motion and all present were in favor.
IV. Citizen/Public Comment
None.
V. Discuss CDBG funding process with Janis Hendrix and Steve Parker
Janis Hendrix and Steve Parker came to discuss with the board about the funding from HUD.
Janis gave the members a handout and explained the process about the “Public Services” (HUD)
funding. She receives applications (similar to what the social services turn in) for funding from
different agencies that meet the CDBG program requirements. The City will have $77,560 to
allocate to these agencies. Janis will provide the applications next month to the board for
review. The board will now be responsible for the allocation of these funds along with the
social service agency funding.
VI. Discussion of Social Service Agency and Agency Assisgnments
No agencies were discussed due to the length of the CDBG discussion. Presentations will
resume at next meeting.
