1. Call to Order 5:30pm
2. Roll Call: Debbie Harvey, Jean Baggett, Caitlyn Strickland, Sara Lee Underwood-Meyers, Kelly Stone,
Chris Salazar, Kayli Head, Lisa Prewitt, Kevin Burke

4. Consider Approval of Minutes of August 2017 Meeting - Debbie motions, Jean seconds, motion passes

Parking Manager/Patrol Report
CVB - Samantha attended board meeting
4 new hotels planned to open next year
Hotel revenue flat, perhaps affected by Laredo
Several conference groups cancelled due to poor weather (Harvey)
6. Chairman’s Discussions:
FY18 Work Plan - Debbie motions to adopt FY18 work plan, Kelly seconds, motion passes
Coffee Talk - proposed date Monday, October 23 @ 6pm in collaboration with Downtown
Association monthly meeting
Consider approval of funds for paid internship program for FY18
o Budget for paid interns removed from Main Street FY18 budget
o Consider utilizing unused “other special events” budget - Jean motions to pay 2 interns,
Caitlyn seconds, motion passes

Meeting Time – 2nd Thur at 10am
A. More music and art in public places
B. Create signage and awareness for Kissing Alley
C. Coordinate efforts with the Historic Preservation Commission, Heritage Association of San Marcos,
Hays County Historic Commission, Texas Historic Commission and other organizations on preservation
efforts.
D. Planter and sidewalk maintenance
E. Recommend additional street and safety amenities
Development on sidewalk template (idea)
F. Create bike share program

A. Encourage co-marketing and events
TXST Wine Walk event recap
B. Connect downtown to river life
C. Develop strategies to make downtown events and promotions more intergenerational

Meeting Time – 3rd Tuesday at 9am
Work Plan Items -
A. Partner with GSMP, Chamber and other organizations on BRE efforts including small business trainings
and business assistance
B. Promote B.I.G. program
o 2 sign and awning grants submitted - meeting Thursday at 4 to discuss
C. Support space for creative enterprise downtown

A. Advocate for downtown and report on success to public

D. Engage volunteers and recruit volunteers with a diversity of skills
E. Bid for conferences and nominate downtown for awards

Council adopted FY18 Budget on 9/19/17
Discussion to purchase land in flood plain
