III. Citizen Comment Period:
Persons wishing to participate (speak) during the Citizen Comment portion of the meeting must email jfalletta@sanmarcostx.gov prior to 12:00PM the
day of the meeting. A call in number to join by phone or link to join by a mobile device, laptop or desktop computer will be provided for participation.
Comments shall have a time limit of three minutes each. Any threatening, defamatory or other similar comments prohibited by Chapter 2 of the San
Marcos City Code will not be read.
MINUTES
1. The October 21, 2020 meeting minutes were amended and approved on Board Member
Simpson’s motion, Board Member Derrick’s second, on an 8-0 vote.
ACTION ITEMS
2. The sign grant request from Babes Doughnut Co, for their soon-to-open location at 214 N LBJ Dr
#101, was approved in the amount of $1,937.50 on Board Member Derrick’s motion, Board
Member Lynn’s second, on an 8-0 vote.
3. The awning grant request from Vagabond Vintage, to repair the existing awning at their location at
320 N LBJ Dr, was approved in the amount of $854.50 on Board Member McCafferty’s motion,
Board Member Akins’s second on an 8-0 vote.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
4. Trailriders Event – After discussion of the upcoming February 2021 GRA Trailriders visit,
The Board is in agreement of moving forward with planning. This planning will place special
consideration on safety given the pandemic. Staff will begin conversations with Hays
County and appropriate City staff to develop a safety plan. Main Street staff will not serve
cobbler this year in an abundance of caution, and Trailriders will be asked to visit local
businesses for lunch. Main Street will coordinate with restaurants moving forward.
5. December Meeting – Board Members Derrick and Collins voiced their intent to not hold a
meeting in December unless there is a pressing need. The Board reached consensus that
they will not meet in December unless Main Street staff receive a grant application which
needs immediate review.

provide direction to staff.
