Neighborhood Commission Regular Meeting Agenda July 17, 2019 at 6:15 p.m. Neighborhood Enhancement Conference Room 630 E Hopkins, Bldg. 5, San Marcos, Texas 78666 I. Call to Order Please note that all commission meetings may be recorded and uploaded to the City’s website at www.sanmarcostx.gov II. Roll Call III. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period: Each speaker signed up prior to the meeting being called to order will be called in order of sign-up, and will be allowed three minutes to speak about items posted or not on the agenda IV. MINUTES: Consider approval, by motion, of the June 19, 2019 meeting minutes V. PRESENTATIONS a) SMTX 4 All Housing Initiative (Planning) b) MoveSM (Margo Handwerker) VI. ITEMS FOR ACTION/DISCUSSION a) Discuss and consider action regarding the presentation provided at the 6/19/19 meeting by the Office of Emergency Management about the role that Commissioners can play in alerting neighborhoods of emergencies and disasters. Receive requested information regarding a listing of locations for digital sign placement and location of 14 sirens currently in place in San Marcos. b) Review, discuss and consider for approval revised draft resolution to Council regarding changes to Neighborhood Commission ordinance based on strategic planning exercise, with revisions noted during 6/19/19 meeting. c) Review, discuss and consider for approval revised draft resolution to Council regarding installation of speed display signs in school zones, with revisions noted during 6/19/19 meeting. d) Review and discuss for possible action a draft resolution to Council regarding a walk bridge at Sessom and Comanche, taking into account new considerations submitted by citizens. Tabled from 6/19/19 meeting. e) Review and discuss for possible action a draft resolution to Council regarding protection of heritage trees when making changes to neighborhood areas. Tabled from 6/19/19 meeting pending further research and verbiage clarification. VII. REPORTS a) Commissioner Report: Update on Wallace Addition neighborhood meeting by Roland Saucedo (Sector 5) b) Commissioner Report: Experience and process of procuring the services of a mural artist for interested sectors by Roland Saucedo (Sector 5) VIII. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS (motions to place a discussion item on an agenda for a regular commission meeting) a) Discuss and consider discussion items for future agendas. IX. Question and Answer Session with Press and Public X.
