Neighborhood Commission Regular Meeting Agenda August 21, 2019 at 6:15 p.m. Neighborhood Enhancement Conference Room 630 E Hopkins, Bldg. 5, San Marcos, Texas 78666 I. Call to Order Please note that all commission meetings may be recorded and uploaded to the City’s website at www.sanmarcostx.gov II. Roll Call III. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period: Each speaker signed up prior to the meeting being called to order will be called in order of sign-up, and will be allowed three minutes to speak about items posted or not on the agenda. IV. MINUTES: Consider approval, by motion, of the July 17, 2019 meeting minutes V. PRESENTATIONS a) Commentary on the Historic Preservation Survey: A Neighborhood Perspective (Tom Wassenich/Amy Meeks) VI. ITEMS FOR ACTION/DISCUSSION a) Discuss the presentation: Commentary on the Historic Preservation Survey. b) Consider possible recommendation for custom street signs in Blanco Gardens by Transportation Department. c) Review and discuss for possible action an amended draft resolution to Council to address pedestrian/cyclist traffic safety at Comanche and N LBJ Dr., Academy and Sessoms. d) Discuss and consider possible recommendation to Council regarding combining Downtown, Sector 8 with the Sector 1 as it relates to Neighborhood Commission representation. e) Review and discuss highlights of Sector 6: Neighborhood Conversation held August 15, 2019. f) Review remaining 2019 Neighborhood Conversation dates and locations. Consider for potential action a proposal for 2020 Neighborhood Conversations to coincide with soon-to-be scheduled Party in Your Park events. g) Discuss and consider possible recommendation regarding a Neighborhood Vitality Grant Program VII. REPORTS a) Commissioner Report: Wonder World/Hunter TXDOT project update by Lizbeth Dobbins (Sector 9) b) Staff Report: Status report of success for Bobcats Give Back by Samantha Armbruster c) Staff Report: National Neighborhood Day – 3rd Sunday in September. Proclamation scheduled. VIII. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS (motions to place a discussion item on an agenda for a regular commission meeting) a) Discuss and consider discussion items for future agendas. - Receive a report from Planning on results of Historic Preservation Survey at 9/18/19 meeting IX. Question and Answer Session with Press and Public X.
