City of San Marcos Regular Meeting Zoning Board of Adjustments February 16, 2023, 5:45 PM City Hall, Council Chambers 630 East Hopkins Street The Board member presiding over the meeting will be present at this location. An announcement will be made on the basis for the Executive Session discussion. The Zoning Board of Adjustments may also publicly discuss any item listed on this agenda for Executive Session. I. Call To Order II. Roll Call III. Election of Officers: a. Election of Chair b. Election of Vice Chair IV. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period: Persons wishing to comment during the Citizen Comment Period must submit their written comments or requests to speak to planninginfo@sanmarcostx.gov no later than 12:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Please indicate if you would like to speak in person or virtually. A link to join by phone, mobile device, laptop or desktop will be sent. Timely submitted written comments will be provided to the Board prior to the meeting. Comments shall have a time limit of three minutes each. V. Discussion Item(s) a. Receive a presentation from staff and discuss the Zoning Board of Adjustments (ZBOA) authorizing Codes and Ordinances, and related meeting requirements and procedures. VI. Public Hearings: Written comments or requests to join in a public hearing must be sent to planninginfo@sanmarcostx.gov the day prior to the meeting and no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) on the day of the hearing. A call-in number to join by phone or link will be provided for participation on a mobile device, laptop or desktop computer. Comments shall have a time limit of three minutes each. Any threatening, defamatory or other similar comments prohibited by Chapter 2 of the San Marcos City Code will not be tolerated. Please indicate if you would like to speak in person a. VR-23-01 (1348 Thorpe Lane) Hold a public hearing and consider a request by Royal Signs and Awnings on behalf of The Summit Apartments for a variance to Section 7.3.3.2 and 9.4.3.3.N of the San Marcos Land Development Code, which permits a 7-foot monument sign, in order to erect a new 12-foot tall monument sign. VII. QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION WITH PRESS AND PUBLIC This is an opportunity for the Press and Public to ask questions related to items on this agenda. Persons wishing to participate remotely in the Q&A session must email planninginfo@sanmarcostx.gov beginning the day prior to the meeting and before 12:00PM the day of the meeting. A call-in number to join by phone or link will be provided for participation on a mobile device, laptop or desktop computer. If attending in person, no sign up is required. VI.
