Agenda item #______ Consent/Regular CITY OF SAND SPRINGS COUNCIL/AUTHORITY STAFF REPORT MEETING DATE: __July 22, 2019 SUBJECT: SAND SPRINGS – POGUE AIRPORT NORTH WEST APRON DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS – DESIGN ONLY STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approval of Resolution No. 20-06 related to a supplemental appropriation, amending an engineering agreement, acceptance of a grant offer, payment authorization, and signature authorization. BACKGROUND AND HISTORY: One of the projects eligible for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funding involves the construction of drainage improvements to support further development of the North West Apron area. This project is consistent with the 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan reviewed by the Airport Advisory Board, approved by the City Council, and submitted to the FAA. In May the City sent a grant application to the FAA, and we recently received the FAA Grant Offer for a Design Only grant, with the intent of receiving a Construction grant the following year. A transfer of appropriations will be necessary within the Airport Improvement Fund to reflect the receipt of this grant, and increase the expenditures for the design phase. The grant acceptance must be executed no later than August 5th 2019. We have negotiated an Agreement with Garver for grant administration and design of the drainage improvements portions of the project. The engineering services associated with these types of projects are 90% FAA reimbursable. BUGETARY IMPACT: Funds are available within the Airport Construction Fund. COMPILED BY: T.J.
