Council Member Business
Scott Cowdell attended the 90th South expansion meetings. It seems that UDOT is not
listening to the residents. This will be a 7 lane highway. It will be difficult for ingress and
egress on the road. He is concerned for the residents safety. 240 East and 220 East will
be dangerous.

CAO Report
James Sorensen briefed the Council on a couple of code amendments that will be coming
before the Planning Commission and city council. Both are related to changes made at
last years legislative session. Home Occupations that do not require business license.
Senate Bill 250 dealing with mobile food trucks and vendors, location and how they are
licensed.

1. 17-283 City Council recommending an update from Sandy Senior Center Manager
Charles Otis.
Charles Otis, Sandy Senior Center, reported on the third quarter statistics for the center.
They held a health conference with a key note speaker talking about the three areas that
seniors need to focus on to live to be 100 years. Dancing is one of the things that prove
to help. The center provides several classes for the seniors.

Nicole Martin discussed the good truck would not collect taxes depending on where they
are located.

magazine. show how the city has progressed with this tool. may move to a monthly

Kim Bell along with Steve Geddes presented the Sandy City winners of the Beautification
Contest for 2017. They introduced some of the community members who were present.

David sent an e-mail regarding the dog park asphalt slag being put in the slag been
directly responsible to injuries to children and a blind woman. He has moved chunks of
asphalt himself asphalt slag is most dangerous surface to be put down. would like further
discussion, think dog parks have it. ore utilization people are using it. concern of all
people using the dog park.

on the projects that were conducted.

reimbursement for the cost of NARCAN kits and training for City Personnel.

Nicole Martin and chief Thacker explained the NARCAN interlocal agreement to make
sure the police vehicles are equipped with NARcan kits. This was per Sim Gill. zero
cost to sandy city.
