Shane Pace, CAO, offered the Prayer. Council Member Alison Stroud led the Pledge. Council moved to Item 2 on the Agenda. Citizen Comment Procedure 1. 23-281 General Citizen Comment Period (No earlier than 6:00 PM) Attachments: Click here to eComment on this item Council Chair Brooke D'Sousa invited the public to participate in General Citizen Comment. Ms. Pat Jones shared her friend's experience and acknowledgement of the amazing first responders that helped her friend's family during a difficult time. She wanted to thank the first responders on behalf of her friend for their amazing work, compassion, and care in responding to and dealing with a difficult call. Council recessed at 5:40 pm and reconvened at 6:00 pm to continue with the General Citizen Comment. Ms. Kirby Croyle thanked the Mayor for sending out the survey. She is the designated observer from the League of Women Voters and she thanked Chair Stroud for her service. Public comment closed. Council moved to Adjournment. Item Approved. 4. 23-276 Public Utilities Department presenting on an Interlocal Agreement for road improvements along 300 West and Dry Creek Channel within South Jordan City Boundaries. Standing Reports Agenda Planning Calendar Review & Council Office Director's Report Dustin Fratto, Council Director provided updates on upcoming agenda items. The August 1st meeting is cancelled for Night Out Against Crime. Sandy City, Utah Page 4 Printed on 8/9/2023 City Council Meeting Minutes July 18, 2023 Council Member Business Ryan Mecham provided an update from the Sandy Historic Committee and Heritage Festival. The community is very excited for the fall festival. Mayor's Report Mayor Zoltanski represented the City at a recent event with the Governor. She provided an update on the Shelter the Homeless shelter for the medically vulnerable homeless population. She reminded the residents to observe the speed limits in Sandy City and she invited the public to attend the events at the Sandy Amphitheater. She provided updates from recent meetings with the Salt Lake County and the ULCT caucus meeting. CAO Report Shane Pace, CAO reminded the Council that July 24th is a holiday - the city offices will be closed. He provided some city updates. Council moved to General Citizen Comment.
