City of Santa Clara Page 3 of 8 Printed on 3/29/2018 Council and Authorities Concurrent Meeting Agenda April 3, 2018 Meeting 2.K 18-030 Approve Agreement for Fueling System Improvements at Various City Facilities and Approval of a Budget Amendment Recommendation: 1) Award the Public Works Contract CE16-17-12 for Fire Stations 5, 7, 8, 9, Corporation Yards and Park Service Center Fueling System Improvements Project to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Balch Petroleum, in the amount of $979,925, and authorize the City Manager to execute any and all documents necessary for the award, completion and acceptance of this project; and 2) Authorize the City Manager to execute change orders up to 10% of the original contract price, or $98,075, for a total not-to-exceed amount of $1,078,000; and 3) Approve a budget amendment of $438,000 from the Capital Projects Reserve to the Overfill-Tank Replacement Project (This action requires a 5 vote majority by Council). 2.L 18-095 Retroactive Approval of the Management Agreement between Santa Clara Swim Club and the City for the Mary Gomez Pool Recommendation: Approve (retroactively) the Management Agreement Between the City and Santa Clara Swim Club for Mary Gomez Pool for community recreation aquatics programs and SCSC activities in an amount of $35,000 plus CPI +1% for five years with two potential two potential five year extension periods. Authorize the City Manager to execute into the Letter of Intent with Magical Bridge Foundation 3. Approve the Appropriation of funds in the amount of $500,000 to the Central Park Arbor Playground Project. Approve the Introduction of an Ordinance approving a Second Amendment to the Development Agreement between the City of Santa Clara and SI 55, LLC, for the property located at 2200 Lawson Lane, in the form prepared by City staff. 5. 18-068 Action on Use Permit Appeal and Rezoning at 281 Serena Way Daycare Recommendation: Alternatives 1) and 2): 1) Approve the Rezoning from the R1-6L Single-Family Zoning District to the General Office (OG) Zoning District for 281 Serena Way; and, 2) Approve the appeal and overturn the Planning Commission’s denial of the Use Permit to allow for outdoor play area in the OG Zoning District and approve the Use Permit at 281 Serena Way, subject to conditions. 6. 18-394 Written Petition Submitted by Rajeev Batra: Request to be placed on a future agenda to discuss his benefit issue Recommendation: There is no staff recommendation for this issue.
